Watching cars go around a track for two or three hours on television may be the most boring sporting event televised. Sitting around watching it is definitely a straight man thing. Biggy...care to weigh in?
It's a close call between that and televised bass fishing.
I can't believe people can watch golf on TV either...or thqt they can stand to play it, for that matter. Yawn.
Let the record show I don't watch any of the above mentioned "sports". Perhaps Daisy was watching it because she's too old to chase cars anymore?
Biggy, you absolutely DO watch the races.
some of life's most cherished moments came while standing on top of a U-Haul truck w Deacon Lunchbox in the infield (turn 3) of the Hooters 500, all of us hollering for Dick Trickle (I do not make that up) - but, it must have been a cracker-phase I went through because now I hate the whole nascar thing that's become so much sanitized republican flag-waving dookey . . .
and anyway, straight men get a "pass" on certain things - what did Whitman say (speaking for us) - "I am stern, acrid, large, undissuadable - but I love you."Yeah!
another boring sport to watch: poker. Who the F#@! enjoys watching a bunch of bloated gambling men swap cards? clearly, none of these people read blogs.
Car racing: it takes a delicate blend of testosterone, alcohol, and snuff juice to affect the brain enough to enjoy this on TV. sadly, this seems all too easy to achieve.( now, if they actually had 500 hooters girls at the hooters 500...I am so there.) all those those other fine viewing choices are there to watch if you have trouble sleeping....that should do it...zzzzzzz
I kind of like the poker on tv...:-/
i *heart* jeff gordon
T, you must have me confused with your boyfriend. I absolutely DO NOT watch NASCAR. Ms. America pageant, yes.
ooooohhh . . . ouch! Good one, Biggy![settles in on the sofa with a bag of popcorn and waits for T's rejoinder]But M Maxon - what about Jeff Gordon's adenoidal whiny voice? That's gotta be a turn-off.
My boyfriend doesn't watch NASCAR or beauty pageants. He's on the Tania Channel.
