I particularly enjoyed Dana Milbank's piece in the Washington Post this morning: 'The woman accused of running a prostitution ring allegedly patronized by Eliot Spitzer told one of her call girls that the New York governor had been known to "ask you to do things that, like, you might not think were safe." But whatever Spitzer -- or, in the language of a federal court filing, "Client-9" -- did with a petite brunette nicknamed "Kristen" on the eve of Valentine's Day last month at Washington's Mayflower Hotel, it probably wasn't as monstrous as what he asked his wife to do yesterday.'
Later in the piece he described Mrs. Spitzer: "Silda Wall Spitzer looked like a victim of food poisoning as she stood by her man's side."
What I mean, Dear Rupert, is that, before, he was an ugly man with power, money, a family who loved him, and the appearance of integrity, all of which make a man more attractive to the world.
but what I'm suggesting is that calling him "ugly" (objectifying his looks) is part of the same slippery slope that sets up unattainable standards for women and girls who end up w eating disorders, etc. I'm not trying to mess with you, T . . . just saying, that's all :)
Women aren't driven by men's looks the way men are driven by women's. A woman can be lacking ambition, dumb as rocks, and with questionable morals, or made of plastic, but if she's beautiful, men will still want her.
On the other hand, an old or not-so-great-looking man, or (as in Spitzer's case) a Cro-Magnon, becomes more attractive if he has power, a sense of humor, intelligence, and ambition.
agreed, Tania...and I, too, agree that this dude is a total douche bag...I mean, seriously, if you want to have sex with hookers, just don't get married....how hard is that?
Behind every good man is a good woman. Behind every cheating man is a woman who doesn't take care of business in the boudoir. I am incensed every time I see Cosmo or any othe Woman's mag that has the list of 100 ways to please your man. That list only needs to be 4 items long and even those don't get mentioned.

That was an expensive piece of ass.
i am just as repulsed by his "stand by your man" wife as i am by him. i hope he loses everything, the creep.
I wish they would legalize prostitution so that we wouldn't waste our tax dollars on this kind of bullshit.
Hey, a girl's gotta right to make a living, but the man is married.
and it is his marriage, not hers...he should make smarter, more sensitive choices...what a dumbass.
I agree completely. I'm actually for decriminalizing prostitution. Have been for years.
What I'm not for is some hypocrite dragging his family through the filth and mud.
For $6,500, the hooker ought to hand you a bag of gold after the sex. I mean really...
$6500.00 would barely get my clients any saliva.
He'd have to pay me lots more than $6500 to hit that.
Jennifer, I call bullshit on that:)

I get that he's a creep etc. but what does ugly have to do with it?

When this is over, all he'll be is ugly.
I couldn't agree more.

But I concede, I'm playing to stereotypes.

why don't the d.b.s just pay their wives? win-win situation.
I think we gals are due a few chances to stereotype, frankly.
yeah yeah two wrongs don't make a right.

Ol' "Spitz" reminds me of Mr. Horse on the Ren & Stimpy cartoons...."No sir, I don't like it....."
T- I guess I should give up hope on gettin' that gift certificate to the Bunny Ranch then, huh?
